It's a problem most of us face from time to time. As the day drags on, we lose focus and energy. But there may be a way to concentrate longer and lose weight at the same time. In tonight's special assignment report, 7's Christine Cruz shows us how eating the right stuff can help your body refuel.

WSVN--From fast food to fast cars -- it seems we're always in a hurry.

Then by the time we put on the brakes, we're worn out.

But - getting your motor running again may be as simple as changing what you eat.

Rosanna Gomez: "I needed change in my life to learn how to eat better and feel better."

It used to be Rosanna Gomez couldn't pass up a burger joint.

Rosanna Gomez: "I love a hamburger."

But, after eating one, her energy rolled to a screeching halt.

Rosanna Gomez: "I always felt bad after I ate junk food."

Not to mention, a busy, stressful life left her feeling drained and in need of a little body work.

Rosanna Gomez: "My weight was crazy I was going up and down I wasn't feeling very strong."

Christine Cruz: "Like so many of us, Rosanna wanted a way to rev up again. But it's not as hard as you think, switching gears and stopping old habits could put you back on the right track."

Lisa Dorfman: "Women need to stay on track by keeping their bodies strong and healthy."

The key, eat carbs. They fuel your body.

But you don't get the green light to eat them all.

Lisa Dorfman: "Choosing the right carbs is the challenge."

You need to detour the candy bars and ice cream.

They're high in sugar, giving you a burst of energy; but they also make you crash hard.

Instead, keep your eyes peeled for better carb options.

Lisa Dorfman: "Anything fresh goes so fresh fruit, fresh vegetables."

To kick it up a notch. Include a daily dose of fluids, fibers, proteins and whole grains.

And if you're feeling an afternoon stall coming on, go for a spin.

Lisa Dorfman: "Get a small smoothie, ask for no added sugar, and get a little protein put in there so it holds you over."

Changing directions put Rosanna on the fast track again.

Not only is she working out, but her roadside cravings have taken a backseat to healthier options.

Rosanna Gomez: "Junk food. Now I hate it."

In five months, she lost 12 inches and seven percent body fat.

Rosanna Gomez: "Everybody is asking me what I'm doing my secret is learned."

Thanks to eating the right stuff -- she's well on the way to becomming a hot rod.

Rosanna Gomez: "I feel good and I look good and that's what I like."

To stay motivated, rotate what's on your diet with the four seasons. Try seasonal foods, a new restaurant, even a cooking class to keep your diet from becoming boring.
